KALEIDOSCOPE

KALEIDOSCOPE

HUMANITY

I am the truth the stays constant at all times,

The lie that changes by the second,

Like patterns drawn by churning waves on beach sand.

I am a wall of enduring rock, tall and resolute,

A handful of talcum, a gust of wind – poof!

I am the climate that history supports,

Unpredictable weather, sun burns after raging flood.

The closest of friends, always about your interest,

Thy worst enemy, bent on your progressive end.

I am supremely proper, a proper misnomer,

Comfortably true, shifty and deceitful.

Me – who you fervently yearn to be,

Yet whose profile, you wouldn’t wish on your own enemy.

I am the one you know intimately,

That knot whose true unravel remains a secret,

But whose sinister presence you suspect still.

I am a true reflection of all that you are.

A good description of all that you can be – in a minute,

Given the right or wrong incentives,

Twisted by fate or simply played by circumstances.

Who am i?

I am me, I am you, I am all of us –

Plagued by the flaws of humanity, as only human beings can be.
