It’s another day, another morning, and you sons of men are scrambling around again in pursuit of your daily bread. Most of you slept and rested from your toils of yesterday, yes? Well, I didn’t. I worked all night, hard too, just like I worked all day yesterday, and will work all day today. Just like I’ll work all night again. Just like I work every day.

 

Before now, I’ve never thought about discussing my job with others, not even my closest friends (not that I have many of those). To me it’s just work, something to be done as quickly and as efficiently as possible and then forgotten. It’s not something I want to draw out in detail and dwell on. Mind you that’s not because I’m not proud of what I do though, heck, I do it damn well all things considered. I just don’t feel I should bother others with the details of something so functional

 

She however feels different.

 

She. She whose words cannot go unheeded. She, the all-powerful. I’m assuming you know who she is already but if by some quirk of fate you don’t, then there’s no point explaining her just yet because it will take too much time and effort. I’ll find another opportunity to bring you up to speed later. That’s a promise.

 

As I was saying, she feels I should put some soul into my work, infuse some art, and share some details about what I do and how I do it with you guys, so this is me avoiding trouble by complying.

Oh, I didn’t introduce myself did I? Sorry about that little oversight.

I am the Reaper, and I can bet you won’t be pleased to meet me.
