TICK TOCK

Tick tock says the clock, tick tock. Whatever you have to do, do quick! I’m not sure I got the lyrics of that nursery rhyme correctly but I hope it still conveys the intended meaning. Many of us wear wristwatches or have table/wall clocks in our homes, offices, places of worship and wherever else we choose to place them, wrist watches and clocks of different shapes and sizes, colors and costs too, with the second hand just merrily ticking away - unnoticed for the most part - as we perfunctorily More...

DO WOMEN TRULY HATE EACH OTHER?

Anybody remember this video? It was a favorite while I was growing up at the time; with most of us in my age grade choosing sides; Brandy vs Monica... that sort of thing. But the most astounding thing for me (then and now) was how they came together in the end to put Mr. Player in his place.    There has to be a reason why that memory particularly stood out for me. Most likely, it is because I had on some level started expecting two women to always be in opposition to one another. (Pray, More...

Stuff meant only for mature minds, and bodies. Yay or nay? Kindly drop your votes in the comments section, they all count in this season of change. Merci.   More...

FORTUNATE,OR NOT

Everybody aspires to live a long life. The sight of old people with their grey hair and frail bodies usually elicits a mixed bag of feelings. Yes, most of us complain about the difficulties associated with daily living especially in a country with a depressed economy like Nigeria but still, nobody wants to die young. Those who grow extremely old are counted as fortunate for having survived the perils of life longer than most and for the huge cache of experiences they must have garnered along the More...

MY ‘DISGUSTING’ PLEASURES

There is something about enjoying life’s simple pleasures and experiencing the little things that add bright spots to what would otherwise be a dreary existence. A lot of people are so caught up in the chase for the ‘big dreams’ that they forget how to appreciate and enjoy those smaller everyday joys. This is just to share some of those things that bring me pleasure in the course of my daily life. They may sound gross or downright icky to you but hey, we can’t all be reasonable and correct More...

MY TEN KOBO

Life in the most populous black nation on earth was a joy to live. Inhabited by a strong and resilient mix of citizens whose arms were always wide open to welcome visitors in all seasons, Nigeria was the place to be. We were the big brother in West Africa with a booming economy, willing to accommodate all and sundry. The Nigeria I grew up in was a heaven and a haven for all sorts. It is most unfortunate that my Nigeria, the erstwhile pride of the black continent is presently a prostrate colossus, More...
