Musings of a Maskuraid…

BEYOND OPEN TEETH

Sometimes, that smile is just a mask,

The cheapest and best form of disguise,

To disarm and completely hide from sight,

The torment, the conflict and the pain inside.

Sometimes, souls are on the borderline,

Seconds away from leaping off the edge,

Bright smiles cloak their silent screams for help,

Fooling the whole world, but not themselves.

Sometimes, we have to go the extra mile,

To be the friend our friends deserve,

Who knows how many (from ruin) we may yet save,

Once we learn to see, beyond a smiling face.
