Musings of a Maskuraid…

SORRY!

I'm sorry, I'd really love to stay and play all day, But for the voices, These residents of my head, They've got so much to say, That I can't help but listen, Which in itself is not a bad thing, Except that it sets my pen to bleeding, And by the time I'm done, Making sure everything is prim, The moment is long lost and gone, You've moved on too, The world is sleeping, And all that's left to do, Is for me to stand as accused, And quietly say, For the umpteenth time, I'm so sorry.   More...

STILL GOT GAME!

Hey beautiful people, how's your weekend going? Mine is fine. I woke up quite pumped this morning because I had a dream in which I was a rapper. Yes, you read right. You can probably blame that on Rooftop MCs. You remember them? The Gospel Duo of SoulSnatcha and SoKleva that gave us 'Shock Therapy' and Lagimo. I wonder where they are now. Anyway, yesterday I went through my cache of CD's and found their album 'The Minority Report' which I jammed all the way home from work. Obvious title More...

LIFT OFF!

Houston, we have liftoff! Yes, the ministry is finally moving. All those days and nights of endlessly tapping keyboards are gradually bearing fruit. All the bits and pieces are fitting together, and the puzzle is beginning to make sense. The first e-book from yours truly is up on Amazon, iTunes and Google Play Store and the links are highlighted below: https://www.amazon.com/Always-Forever-Abiodun-…/…/B0754JSC36 https://itunes.apple.com/…/book/always-and-fo…/id1275589788… https://play.google.com/…/Abiodun_Awodele_Always_And_Foreve… Support More...

EID!

Photo Credits  - Google I watched as the death throes slowly subsided in force and frequency until they totally tapered out. Just a few minutes after I tore out his throat; Salah’s fare finally lay still. He had been a beautiful offering to begin with - muscular and barrel chested - but now his head hung askance, exposing the grisly gash from which blood still dripped and added minute portions to the slowly congealing mass that had pooled in the small receiving hole an underling had dug More...

SECOND SKIN

Photo Credits  - Google Evil did not come rushing in at once, All rampaging like a tidal wave, Against which my heart could build no fort, No sir, it did not. Evil was smart, It stole in surreptitiously on a thought, It came in trickles and drops, One here, one there, in tiny spurts, It looked harmless enough and I let it be, Until it coalesced and pooled in my soul, An angry ocean that suffused my entire being. Evil did not start out as if it wanted to win, It came cap More...

WHISPERS…

Whispers echo, Dreams lie a – bed, prone, The cold air blows shadows, But life knows, That dawn is a step stone And the Sun will show. Keep the faith! More...

THE FEAR OF KARMA

Photo Credits - Google I craved an heir, But the stupid woman, she gave me a daughter, So I unleashed my anger. My rage bruised her, Badly, so badly that she couldn’t carry another, Which annoyed me further, Till each went asunder. My beautiful daughter, A princess, grown, finer than her mother, I pray she meets a man like no other, A prince, one better than her father, But I’m afraid of Karma. More...

A PROMISE OF HEAT

Photo Credit - Google I’ll wait and watch, barely containing my impatience as you take your time to strip off every item of clothing on you. Usually it would be me doing the de-robing, but for our first time out I’m afraid you’ll see my fingers shake while I do so, or worse still I may lose my head and tear everything off your skin in a frenzy just like hunger makes me tear the nylon off Agege bread. It probably wouldn’t be a good way to start our sexual odyssey. When you’re finally More...

SAY NO TO RAPE

Photo Credit - Google He asked her out, Just like every mature man had a right to do, “No,” was how she chose to respond, Like every woman asked had a right to do, Disappointed he went his way, Indifferent she went hers, But the amorous thoughts he had, Of lewd things he’d planned to do to her, With help from some evil counsel, And a bit of idle time, Those thoughts they festered, Until they birthed an obsession, And sired a contaminant in his mind. He stalked her like More...

WHEN FATE PLAYS FAIR

Photo Credit - Google A truck passed and bathed the sodden crowd huddling under the bus stop’s awning in halogen light. At that precise moment she looked my way, and I smiled at her. It was pure instinct and I wasn’t expecting any reaction to be honest, but she smiled back, and suddenly the miserable weather was forgotten. Such was the power of that dazzling smile. It completely hypnotized my soul. **** Only one word can describe the day I just had. Crazy! The crowd at the More...
